This MakerVideo describes how to build a simple HygieneDispenser using only a few components. The heart of the application is a lococube® mini-PLC, toggled by a photoelectic reflective sensor driving a 12V gear pump. The open source project also provides the mini-PLC application for free download. The program can easily be changed to customers requirements.
Once the sensor detects an object getting closer, one digital of the mini-PLC will be toggled high. Now the application runs time-related delays and lock times to directly drive a gear pump connected to the mini-PLCs output. The gear pump pressurizes the desinfectant to be applied to your hands by a fine nozzle.
